What You'll Study
Web Design & Interactive Media students have the opportunity to learn to use the Web to communicate effectively and to develop interfaces showcasing creativity, innovation, usability, and technical expertise. Students begin with art foundation courses in visual and color theory. The associate?s degree program progresses through various aspects of graphic design, interface design, media production, information architecture, team projects, and Web technologies. In the bachelor?s degree program, students have the opportunity to learn to use an even larger variety of techniques for project management, interface design, creative media production, and development technologies and tools to communicate a message. As part of their coursework, all students in both programs are required to create an interactive CD and Web site to show prospective employers.
Mission Statement
Web Design & Interactive Media is the integration of audio, video, still images, animation, text and data for the creation, storage and delivery of interactive content. This program is designed to provide competency-based instruction to prepare students for entry-level multimedia and Web design employment in a variety of industries. Through direction and instruction by a team of industry professionals and educators, the student is guided toward entry-level career opportunities with corporations, organizations, educational institutions, government agencies, entertainment and advertising industries. The graduate will possess practical Web Design & Interactive Media skills and knowledge.
