My name is Tia Young and I am an aspiring Lingerie and Swimwear Designer. I am also interested in Set Design, Costuming, and the role of a Stylist for fashion photography, film, or television. I was inspired to study fashion design by life. I grew up with five siblings in a middle class house. I always got my sisters hand me downs, and my mother could not afford to buy us all new clothes. I wanted to learn how to create clothes for myself and to also to provide styled clothing for my family. However, I focused mainly on lingerie because I love to make people feel sexy! I am skilled in the fundamentals of fashion design such as construction, draping, patternmaking, fashion illustration, and tailoring. I am also up to date with Design software. I use Photoshop to sketch and edit fashion illustrations. I use Illustrator to create technical flats. I use Nedgraphics Easy Map to create a real clothing effect on my digital illustrations and Nedgraphics Easy Weave and Knit to make fabric swatches. I use InDesign to create books and professional portfolios. I am also familiar with Dreamweaver and have the ability to create websites. I am great at styling, I have styled and photographed a look book from my previous job working at MNG by Mango. Also at Mango, I worked as a Visual Merchandiser for 3 years. Currently, I work at Bloomingdales as a Merchandiser. I can be reached at tsy371@stu.aii.edu.
