The bachelor?s degree program in Game Art & Design offers a broad range of design and technology skills for an entry-level career in game development. Students will have the opportunity to acquire a combination of skills in drawing, perspective, 2-D design, and animation. They will study lighting, color theory, anatomy, character and level design, and game prototyping. Also, students will have the opportunity to develop skills in storyboarding, character animation, programming, and web-based game content production. Graduates of the Game Art & Design program will be prepared to seek entry-level positions in the Game Art and Design field, including the business of game production and self promotion, culminating in a professional demo reel and portfolio.
The Game Art & Design program begins with foundational drawing, digital photography, and game play in order to create entertaining and engaging games. 3-D Modeling, animating, and lighting techniques will be taught using industry-standard software to create game assets in a computer environment. Using game production techniques, the student will be a part of a production team, create level designs, and produce interactive game prototypes for fully realized projects.
